Year 12 Visual Art in Practice

This term, students have explored the concept of ephemeral and site-specific art through a unit inspired by the St Stephen’s Catholic College House Patrons and the cultural significance of place. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, students investigated how temporary artworks can communicate meaning, spirituality, identity, and connection to community.

As part of the project, students designed and created large-scale temporary installations inspired by:

• St Augustine 
• Catherine McAuley
• the Muluridji People

The exhibition celebrates creativity, symbolism, storytelling, and the students’ ability to transform natural and recycled materials into meaningful artworks designed specifically for the Chapel Garden environment.
