Thank You to our Parents' Association!
Volunteers from CHAPs and MOTHs continue to provide our community with enriched experiences:
- Thank you to CHAPs volunteers for organising our Mother's Day Stall this week. It was great to see so many dads volunteering!
- Thank you also to our MOTHs volunteers for organising the afterschool Mini Golf last week. With over 30 participants it was a great community event. Don't forget to sign up for their next event, the Dad's only* Virtual Golf next Thursday night.
Enhancing our Child Safety Processes
Our school is committed to the safety and well-being of all children. We want children attending our school to be safe, happy and respected. This week the school has enhanced its volunteer processes with the publication of our Child Safety Induction pack for Volunteers.
School leadership welcomes and invites community feedback on our Child Safe process and our policy suite.
Most importantly, in a Child Safe world, everyone has a role to ensure children are safe – if something doesn’t feel right, speak up.
Dogs at School
This year we have had two incidents of concern involving dogs at school. School staff have also noticed decreased vigilance of respectful and responsible dog ownership and supervision.
Dogs are permitted onsite, however there are protocols around their inclusion in our community. Our school details these protocols in our Dogs at School policy which includes:
- Pet dogs must be leashed at all times and in the control of a responsible adult.
- Pet dogs must not be tied up on school grounds or left unaccompanied.
- Families that bring dogs to school that exhibit signs of aggressive behaviour, bark, or jump may be asked to leave.
- Pet dogs are to meet the standards of hygiene and behaviour appropriate for a school environment. This includes not bringing dogs inside, particularly to the school Admin Office and through the entrance hallway.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Reminder Year 6 - Year 7 Enrolment Deadline this Friday
A reminder to families that if your child is seeking a place in Year 7 at a secondary school next year, you will need to:
- Download the Year 6 to 7 Placement Information Pack 2024-25. The pack includes the application form. Our school has also already distributed a copy of the pack.
- Use Find my School to locate your local secondary school or preferred school, and read about School zones and Enrolling in school.
- Complete the application form and return it to your child's primary school by tomorrow - Friday 10 May 2024.
Year 7 placement is decided by secondary schools using the Department’s Placement Policy. However, all communication about your child's placement must be with Croydon Hills Primary School until the placement is confirmed.
You will receive notification of your child's Year 7 placement offer on Wednesday 17 July 2024.
All government secondary schools will host a Year 7 Orientation Day (for Year 6 students) on Tuesday 10 December 2024.
