Sights on Samoa

Congratulations to two members of St George’s Anglican Grammar School staff, Mr Thomas Dempers – Head of House Mandela - and Ms Lena Olsen (Education Support Assistant) for being selected to attend an Anglican Schools Commission Service-Learning trip to the Polynesian Island of Samoa.

Mr Dempers, Ms Olsen and four St George’s students - including Harry Stowe and Marcus Calafiore pictured above - will join students from other Anglican schools on the island during the September holidays. The journey is based on providing service to children in Samoa, with visits to schools and charities and hands-on charity work.

Last week all St George’s students and staff had a free-dress day – raising more than $620. You are all superstars! The donations will be taken to Samoa by Mr Dempers and Ms Olsen to provide help to communities they meet.

Out of this world, Gabriel!
