We are ending our concept of Multiplicative thinking by using the text 'One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab' and generating a variety of number combinations using the animals as guides. We will be moving onto fractional thinking where we will begin to explore fractions and decimal notation. We will also be delving into time (duration) and mapping throughout this sequence.

In preparation for our Maths Afternoon next week the students will be learning how to play 'Terminator 2' that uses the concept of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Inquiry

Over the next fortnight we will investigate into different places and climate zones, answering the question; Why is heat important for life on Earth? Weaved throughout this will be our Habits of Mind; Managing Impulsivity and Finding Humour.

Wellbeing

Our students will be tracking their emotions throughout a day and analysing times where they may have benefitted from using a particular strategy to ensure they make their way back to being 'Ready to Learn'. They will further investigate a variety of scenarios and decide together how to move through each scenario in appropriate ways, the strategies that can be used and the people they can seek help from if needed.
