Mother’s Day
Next Sunday we celebrate Mother's Day. We honour the incredible women who shape our lives! Motherhood is a powerful force, creating strong bonds and shaping who we become. Let's give thanks!
On this special day, we pray for all mothers. We also remember our heavenly Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. As we continue the joy of Easter, let us rejoice with her too! May Mary, the mother entrusted to us by Jesus, always walk beside us.
Next Thursday 9th of May at 9:00am in the Church we will be celebrating our Mothers and special women through a prayer service led by 1/2 A. All families are welcome to attend and celebrate with us.
Laudato Si’ Week: 19th – 26th May 2024
Laudato Si’ is Pope Francis’ document that teaches us to take care of “our common home”- action towards the protection of the planet and people. The theme for the week is “everything is connected”. During this week, we are invited to participate in nature-based activities, in which families can take some time to connect with nature and each other.
Go on a Scavenger Hunt (suggested by Caritas Australia)
When you are out searching your neighbourhood, see if you can find any of these sustainable items as well:
- Solar panels
- A rainwater tank or "Rainwater/grey water tank in use" signs
- People walking or riding a bike
- Someone watering their garden or plants
- A compost bin or recycling bin
- Recycled material in a garden bed e.g. timber that has been reused
- A native tree e.g. a gum tree or a wattle tree
- Hear birds calling
- Smell 3 different types of flowers or find leaves that are different colours.
What are some other actions you can do that are sustainable and help to take care of the environment?
