Wellbeing

Purpose    I    Positive Emotions    I   Relationships   I   Meaning    I    Accomplishment

As part of Hampton's whole school Wellbeing curriculum, the children will continue to engage with our school norms of Collaboration, Aspiration, Integrity and Resilience.

Throughout the term, we will focus specifically on Problem Solving and Emotional Management.  Students will take part in authentic learning experiences incorporating the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) Program and Visible Wellbeing Framework.  We will also learn about our brain, the different functions it has and how to regulate our emotions, through the Zones of Regulation approach.

Students will:

  • Brainstorm practical strategies to solve everyday problems independently.
  • Work collaboratively to solve everyday problems, including social conflicts.
  • Apply a Catastrophe Scale to rate the severity of different problems and help put these into perspective.
  • Identify, express and describe their emotions.
  • Investigate practical strategies to help regulate their emotions.
