Dear Banyan Fields Primary School Community,

It has been another big week of learning at our school! Our students have been engaged in exciting lessons, working hard, and embracing new challenges with enthusiasm. It’s wonderful to see their curiosity and dedication shining through in everything they do.

Well Done to Our Year 3 and Year 5 Students!

A huge congratulations to all our Year 3 and Year 5 students for completing their NAPLAN tests over the last two weeks! We are so proud of the effort, resilience, and dedication you have shown throughout this process.

No matter the results, what truly matters is your commitment to learning and always striving to do your best. We hope you take pride in your hard work and celebrate your achievements.

A big thank you to our teachers and families for their ongoing support in helping our students feel confident and prepared. Well done, everyone! 🎉👏

Reading Superstars!

A big well done to all the Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students who have reached 25 nights of reading and earned their special certificate! 📖✨ Your dedication to reading is helping you grow as learners, and we are so proud of your achievement.

Keep up the fantastic effort—every book you read takes you on a new adventure and builds your skills along the way. Let’s aim for the next milestone together!

Thank you to our families for supporting a love of reading at home. Happy reading, everyone! 📚👏

Emergency Lockdown Drill

This week, our students participated in their first emergency lockdown drill. It is important for students to be aware of the procedures and practise them regularly so they can respond calmly and confidently in a real emergency. Familiarity with the process ensures they understand what is expected of them and helps reduce anxiety during stressful situations, ultimately keeping them safe. The students did a great job during the drill, following instructions quickly and efficiently. This shows they are becoming more confident and aware of the importance of these safety procedures.

Special Events

As we head towards the end of the term, there are a few whole school events occurring. Our annual Easter raffle is currently underway. Make sure you get your tickets back before the 27th March for your chance to win one of the hundreds of hampers we have!

Friday 21st March, students wore crazy socks and participated in class activities to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome day. On Wednesday 2nd April, students will be educated on students with autism as we recognise World Autism Day. These special whole school days help support the inclusive community we have at Banyan Fields where all students feel valued and learn to accept all students for who they are.

Parent Teacher Interviews

On Thursday 3rd April, we are having Parent Teacher Interviews. This will be done as a student free day, so no students will be onsite. Interviews will run from 11am until 7pm. Please use Compass to book in a time to see your child’s class and specialist teachers. Bookings are 10 minutes in length and are held on-site.
