TPS stall at the Mineral Springs Festival
The Taradale Mineral Springs Festival is only a week away. There are quite a few open spots on the roster so please have a look and sign up if you can. Kids are welcome to help out along with their parents and always love being part of the stall. Roster here:
Calling all bakers and makers! We need plenty to sell at our stall! Baked goods and preserves can be dropped at the multipurpose classroom any time Friday or brought along on Sunday morning to the festival. We just need a list of ingredients, and can't sell anything with fresh cream. Label your containers and we will bring them back to the MP classroom to be picked up on Monday. Thanks!
Hamper/raffle donations
We will have a hamper to raffle at the Festival, if you have something to donate for the hamper please drop it at the office. We generally aim for a gourmet type theme
Bunting
We are still amassing flags for colourful bunting to jazz up the school verandahs and classrooms. Thanks to Donna for a big donation of fabric and for cutting a bundle of flags, big thanks also to Meg, Becky, Belle and Rachel for cutting flags this week (Thanks also to the person who left some fabric in the produce cart!). Alison and Eve will be hosting a relaxed flag cutting/tea drinking couple of hours at school this Sunday from 10am. Everyone/anyone welcome to join. Kids are welcome also, to decorate some flags with fabric textas.
School chickens
We would love to get a flock of school chickens again. It's a wonderful thing for the school and the kids enjoy visiting and looking after them during the day. In the past the students have helped to feed the hens and collect the eggs but we have always needed a parent to check at pick up time to make sure that the chooks have been safely put away, just as a safeguard. We lost our beloved flock last year to a fox attack because the chickens had been accidentally left out (no one's fault, just a series of unlucky coincidences with both key teachers and parents being sick and not being able to check that day).
In order to commit to getting them again we need a group of parents/carers to sign up to be part of the chook group and we'll need to fill a roster with one person per day to check the chickens at pick up time. We'll also need a working bee prior to getting the hens to make sure that everything is ready for them and double check the fox-proofing in the hen house. Plus a roster each school hols to ensure that they get fed and watered. We've got a WhatsApp group that people can join if they are interested in being part of the chook group. By joining the group you are not committing to anything but can be part of the planning and discussion and can put your hand up for chook duties if you are able to help out: TPS Chook Group. Thanks!

Bulb Fundraiser

All parents and carers at the school and friends (community members) are welcome to join the group.
In collaboration with the school, fundraising events will support areas at the school including:
- home readers
- library books
- games and quiet activities for students during break times
- small appliances for the SAKG kitchen classes
- coffee machine for the Breakfast Club volunteers
- new marquee for fundraisers
- garden beautification
- playground toys
