F/1/2 CLASSROOM

What a fantastic start to the year we’ve had in the F/1/2 classroom!
We’ve been having so much fun learning AUSLAN, including a new song in sign language. Many of you may have seen our students confidently showcase their skills at assembly last week – they did an amazing job!
Music has been a big part of our learning, especially in Religion, where we’ve been singing along to songs by Gen Bryant. The students deserve a huge congratulations for their enthusiastic performance at assembly. They have truly mastered the actions and even added a few creative touches of their own!
Our InitialLit program continues to bring excitement to the classroom. Our Foundation students have been working hard to master syllables, onset and rime words, and are now preparing to blend sounds together—the essential building blocks for reading and writing. Our Grade 1 students have embraced the focus on digraphs, using decodable readers to reinforce their learning. Meanwhile, our Grade 2 students have been working on understanding nouns, proper nouns, and pronouns, and are now moving on to adjectives. They’ve also transitioned from writing imaginative texts to exploring persuasive writing.
It’s been a jam-packed and rewarding first term, filled with rich learning experiences. We’re so proud of all the students and excited for what’s ahead!
