Literacy and Maths Intervention at our school.

This term I have been very busy attending Professional Development and setting up the InitiaLit Reading Program in all of the Foundation, 1 and 2 classes.

I will be working with students in Years 1 and 2 using the MiniLit Sage program.

Small groups of children will work for 45 minutes, four times a week using the carefully structured MiniLit Sage program materials.

During each session we will be:

• Working with Sounds and Words – where children are explicitly taught the relationship between sounds and letters and how this knowledge is critical to reading.
• Practice and Application – where further opportunities are provided for the children to practise their reading skills using a variety of activities and resources.

I am excited to use this program and it would be wonderful if you could support your child by reading with them at home daily.
