May your days be many and your troubles be few.
May all God’s blessings descend upon you.
May peace be within you, may your heart be strong.
May you find what you’re seeking wherever you roam.
May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us.
May the hand of God protect us, may the word of God direct us.
May thy Salvation, O Lord, be always ours this day and for evermore.
Amen.
We have hit Week 8 of Term 1 already! This term is flying past!
Parent teacher interviews are on today. It provides a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to meet with teachers to see how the year has started and discuss the goals set for learning as well as social and emotional growth. Thank you to families for booking in to meet with the teachers to collaborate on the progress of your child/ren. If you have missed this opportunity, please get in touch with the classroom teacher of your child/ren and they can make another time to meet with you.
I have been excited to be taking school tours for prospective families for 2026! If you know of anyone who is interested in enrolling at St Mary's in 2026 please share the school contact details with them. They can call, email or book a tour through the website. We are also having two set school tour open days for families who may be interested in looking at the school. We welcome all families to see our beautiful school! If you have siblings to enrol, please see Nicole Fletcher at the office for an enrolment pack.
Our Year 3 and and 5 students have been completing this years NAPLAN assessments. It is a formal assessment that tracks the progress of students all around Australia in Reading, Writing, Conventions of Language (Grammar and Punctuation) and Numeracy. These assessments happen in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9. For students taking part in NAPLAN, remember that these tests are a chance to show your skills and knowledge in certain areas and are in no way a reflection of a person or the skills each individual has in in all other areas of life. It doesn't measure kindness, fun, sporting skills, gaming abilities, how good someone is at cooking are or social skills. At St Mary's, we know each individual is made up of so many special and amazing qualities, and we do not want anyone feeling worried or stressed about completing the tests. The students in Years 3 and 5 have approached the assessments with positivity and enthusiasm, and that is what is most important!
Congratulations to Ethan M for making it to the States for athletics and competing in the 800m, 400m and the Hurdles! This is an amazing achievement and one not many young people can say they have done. We are so proud to say Ethan is a St Mary's student and shining in something he loves! Well done Ethan!
Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
Kind regards
