Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Harmony Week: Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion
Harmony Week has provided us with a valuable opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our school community. This week, our students and staff have embraced the spirit of inclusion, respect, and understanding through a series of meaningful activities. I want to commend our student leaders and Wellbeing team for their efforts in organising events that highlight the unique backgrounds and experiences of our school community.
Harmony Week is more than just a celebration—it is a reminder of the importance of fostering an inclusive and respectful environment where every individual feels valued and accepted. Let’s continue to embrace our differences, learn from one another, and strengthen the sense of belonging that defines our school.
School Council Update
This week, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where the 2024 Annual Report and the 2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) were tabled. We were pleased to welcome new parent representatives Warrick Hamilton & Christian Larsen along with student members Jamaine Lawson Chapman, Ceceilia Sinaki Krishna, Matilda Wilson & Raya Robb to the council. Their insights and contributions will play a key role in shaping the direction of our school.
I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the parents and staff who have stepped off the School Council this year - Sheryl Tyack and Wendy Hateley. Your dedication, time, and effort have been instrumental in driving improvements within our school. Your contributions have made a meaningful impact, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to supporting our students and school community.
Parent-Teacher Interviews – Wednesday 26/03/2025
A reminder that Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place on Wednesday, March 26th. This is a valuable opportunity for parents, guardians, and students to discuss progress and set learning goals for the remainder of the year. Bookings can still be made via Compass, and I encourage all students to attend with their parents or guardians. Please note that there will be no scheduled classes on this day to allow for these important conversations.
End of Term Arrangements
As we approach the conclusion of Term 1, we are excited for the upcoming House Cross Country event on Thursday, April 4th, followed by an SRC-organised Colour Run. These events provide a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in friendly competition, promote physical wellbeing, and demonstrate school spirit. I encourage all students to get involved and enjoy the day.
Please be reminded that the school day will conclude early at 2:10 pm on this date. Further details will be shared via Compass and our social media platforms.
NAPLAN Success
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the efforts of our Year 7 and 9 students, who have approached NAPLAN testing with confidence, focus, and maturity. Their commitment to doing their best is truly commendable. Thank you to our staff and families for the support and encouragement you have provided throughout this process.
As we wrap up Term 1, I encourage everyone to carry forward our school values of resilience, compassion, success and citizenship that have been evident throughout Harmony Week and beyond. Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement in our school community.
Mr. Justin Matt, Principal,
