Another exciting two weeks have flown by at Ceres PS as we, quite incredibly, embark on Week 8 next week, with only three to go until the holidays.
Last week, our students
successfully participated in our 2025 swimming program at LeisureInk, Waurn Ponds. It was a great week, with all participants having lots of fun in the pool and water park. Feedback from pool staff and Ceres staff was incredibly positive about the behaviour, endeavour, and effort of our students all week. Well done to all. Big thanks to Mr James for his wonderful organisation of this event.
Our 2025 school photos were taken on Wednesday, and these were taken in bright sunny skies with cheesy grins aplenty. Our whole school photo will be a true treasure, given our significant milestone this year. These will be available for families at a later date. Stay tuned!
NAPLAN also began this week, with Writing completed on Wednesday and Reading and Language Conventions completed today (Friday). Numeracy will be held on Monday and any necessary catch ups thereafter.
As always, our students were instructed to give each assessment their best efforts and do so with a positive attitude. Results will be available by mid year. Teachers will send home student reports once they have been received by the school. Thank you to the staff that supported the students in these assessments and to Mrs Goward for her coordination of NAPLAN and for making each student a support pack of treats to lift their spirits prior.
Next week, we are very excited about our Whole School Athletics Day on the Wednesday (19th) and Harmony Day on Friday (21st).
A friendly reminder to please avoid parking in the designated disabled parking bays unless you have a valid permit. These spaces are essential for those who need them. Additionally, for the safety of all students and families, please ensure you park within the marked bays. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and accessible.
What to do with 7 corten steel bollards featuring the words of the previous Values model when the school has introduced less values? Get creative and cover them, of course.
On Wednesday we had signs installed to hide the previous Super 7 values and highlight our new values of Respect, Resilience, and Responsibility while also shining a light on our relatively new house groups Lok Lok and Kanyul. We think the makeover looks great, we hope you all do too.
The final part of this area's transformation will be to remove the garden bed and install some gravel to allow children to walk through the area without destroying any plants.

Enrolment and tour enquiries for 2026 Foundation students have begun, and there has been some pleasing early interest.
If you have a sibling of a current student needing enrolment next year, then we ask that you notify the office earlier rather than later to give us a clear indication of potential numbers.
If you know anyone looking to enroll at Ceres PS in 2026, then feel free to ask them to book a tour (individual or group tours available) or pick up an expression of interest pack from the office.
We are looking to dispose of our push mower, which is available for a donation to the school. Please contact the office if you or someone you may be interested.
Our newsletter is private to our school community and is not shared on our website or social media. Reminder:
Our student led Assembly is today at 2:30 pm. Our assembly is an important part of our school. It is an opportunity to proactively reinforce our school values and expectations through the acknowledgement and celebration of our students and school.
