A message from the Principal

NAPLAN Testing

As of today, almost all Literacy NAPLAN tests have been completed, and Numeracy testing is scheduled for early this week, followed by any necessary catch-up tests. We commend our students for their dedication and focus throughout this period. They are doing an incredible job! We also thank Mrs Sharee Whiteacre and Mrs Sharna Holland, who have done an amazing job coordinating the testing this year.

PROJECT COMPASSION: UNITED AGAINST POVERTY

Throughout Lent, we are called to embody compassion and support those experiencing poverty. Project Compassion, initiated by Caritas Australia, offers a meaningful way for us to participate in this mission. This year, we have the opportunity to explore inspiring stories from individuals. Last week, we learned about Toefuata'iga, a 13-year-old student from Samoa who faced significant challenges due to a lack of clean water at her school. Classes were often cut short, and her health was at risk from dehydration and poor hygiene. However, after Caritas Australia's partner, Caritas Samoa, installed a 10,000-litre water tank at her school, Toefuata'iga and her classmates experienced improved health and more consistent attendance.

These narratives highlight the transformative work Caritas is doing globally, addressing challenges such as access to education, disability support, and economic empowerment. By engaging with these stories, we gain insight into the impact of our collective efforts and are reminded of the importance of solidarity in creating a just and compassionate world. Easter Fundraiser

As we prepare for our annual Easter Raffle, we are asking for donations to help create the prizes up for grabs. If you are able to contribute, please drop off your donations to the office by Wednesday, 2nd April.             We appreciate your generosity, and any contributions, big or small, are welcome. Your support helps make this event a success for our school community. The draw for the Easter Prizes will take place in the last week of term. Raffle tickets were sent home with students las week, additional tickets are available from the office.

Easter Term Holidays

Our Easter break will commence on Friday, 4th April, with school concluding at 2:15 pm. Students will resume Term 2 on Monday, 28th April. This extended holiday period allows staff from the Sandhurst Diocese to participate in professional learning sessions featuring distinguished educational speakers from around the world. Please mark these dates on your calendar if you haven't already.

Ride to School Day

National Ride to School Day is on this Friday, 21st March. To celebrate, we invite students and families to join us for a group ride, departing from the RSL Carpark at 8:30 AM. The route is approximately one kilometr, supervised by several teachers and ESOs. We look forward to seeing many of you there!

Learning Expo

We are excited to announce this term's Learning Expo on Friday, 28th March. This event gives our students the chance to showcase the learning they’ve been engaged in throughout the term. At the Learning Expo, families and friends are invited to visit classrooms and explore the work students have been involved in. Parents can drop in between 1:00 pm and 1:40 pm to view their child's learning journey and celebrate their achievements.

The Learning Expo provides a wonderful opportunity for students to share their excitement about what they’ve learned, and for families to gain a deeper insight into the educational experiences their child has been part of this term. We look forward to seeing you there!

Bush Dance

Mark your calendars for our St Peter’s Bush Dance on Tuesday, 1st April. The day begins with students collaborating with the Bush Dance band, followed by a pizza dinner at 5:00 PM. Dancing will commence shortly after, with families welcome to join until 7:00 PM. This event has been a highlight in previous years, and we hope to see you all there!

God Bless,
