Principal's News

The end of the term is nearly upon us! Only one more week to go.

Welcome.

Please remember you are always welcome in your children's classrooms.  We spoke at our Curriculum Night about the implementation of Magnify in our school and schools across the Diocese.  You know what it looks like in theory but you are welcome to see what it looks like in action.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN has been completed for another year for students in Year 3 and Year 5 at St John's.  This test is one form of assessment that we use to determine student progress and achievement.  We do not receive the results until later in the year and will send home a comprehensive report to parents at this time.

Pupil free day.

A reminder next Tuesday is a pupil free day.  All staff will be at St Brendan's in Shepparton for the day as we work together on the next stage of the implementation of Magnify and our Behaviour Curriculum.  Our focus is on creating Calm, Orderly and Reliable classrooms and spaces with the focus on student learning and teachers teaching. TheirCare will be operating a program for families who need it.

School Uniform.

Thank you to families who have supported the school with ensuring children are wearing the correct school uniform.  Children will be asked to remove earrings (other than studs and sleepers), makeup and nail polish if they continue to wear them.

Binney St gate.

The Binney St gate has now been open for a week with a steady increase in the number of families using it.  This is a great alternative as Anderson St gets busier and busier with traffic due to the construction work happening in Euroa.  It is easy to get a park in Binney St and it is shady while you wait and much less busy.  The children also seem to enjoy the independence of walking to the back gate.  There is always a teacher on duty to welcome and farewell each day.

Easter Raffle.

Thank you very much to the families who have donated eggs, bunnies and colouring in books for our Easter raffle.  It is not too late to send along a donation.  The basket is located in the foyer of the school office.  The raffle will be drawn at the last Assembly for the term on the last day of school.  Tickets have gone home to all families.  You are under no obligation to buy them but if you require more please give Bek a call in the office.

School Photos.

Photos are on this Thursday!  As per usual all students need to wear their full school uniform (not their sports uniform) and have their hair tied back if applicable.

Please remember my mum in your prayers, she is very ill at the moment.  I have been out of the school quite a bit over the last week as we spend as much time with her as we can. She is in the Epworth Hospital in Richmond in Melbourne which makes it a bit tricky with travelling distances.

The last newsletter for the term is next week.

Until next week.
