Year 11/12
Ms Mingos, Ms Vernon, Mr Matthews, Ms Constantine and Ms MacDonald
Our Year 11 students have had an incredibly busy term with college events, incursions, excursions and outcomes as well as completion of classwork and coursework requirements. We are incredibly proud of how our cohort have conducted themselves in each of these activities, some highlights being Athletics Day and our Elevate ‘Study Sensei’ incursion.
Many students have excelled in their learning and therefore have been recognised for their hard work at our celebration assembly. We would like to congratulate all who received a certificate to acknowledge their achievements.
We also would like to take the opportunity to recognise those students who have maintained an attendance percentage of 100% for term one. These students were rewarded with a pizza lunch which was greatly appreciated.
We hope all our Year 11 cohort have a wonderful break and we look forward to another productive term, beginning Tuesday 22nd April.
We are thrilled to share some exciting developments for our Year 12 students this year! The Year 12 cohort has officially moved into the Green Building, and we have created a vibrant communal area where students can relax and collaborate during breaks.
Based on valuable feedback from students, we are already planning to give the space a fresh new layout over the holiday break. New furniture is on the way, and we are also setting up a food preparation station that will include microwaves, a kettle, and a sandwich press. Please note, students will only be permitted to use the food station during lunchtime.
We are currently looking for student volunteers to help supervise the use of this new space, ensuring that it remains a welcoming and well-maintained area for everyone.
This term we waited in anticipation for the whole school Athletics carnival at Casey Fields, the last one for our Year 12 cohort. After walking to the track in an array of costumes and with the house spirit on their mind, they had fun sprinting the 100metres track event dressed as dinosaurs, police officers and maids, then onto relay races against the staff, whilst enjoying fairy floss, karaoke, long jump, high jump, shot put and discus. We then finished the term by celebrating the achievements of those students who had collected over 300 RGAR points, acknowledged those who had achieved within their subject, congratulated those who have 100% attendance and reminisced over the term that was.
As Term One draws to a close, we would like to thank all of our school community for the work they do to help our students feel happy, engaged and make great progress at school. The staff in Senior School go above and beyond to ensure our students are supported and challenged in their learning. We would also like to congratulate the students on their hard work and dedication they have shown this term.
We are working together with the Year 12 executive committee to improve the experiences for the Year 12 cohort and increase the students’ agency within our school. the Year 12 Executive Student Committee is busy planning some fantastic events, including Term 2 Wellbeing Days and celebrations for Semester 1. We look forward to keeping you updated on all the exciting activities and initiatives that will make this year memorable for our students!
