Year 7 Camp

Earlier this term, our Year 7 students embarked on an exciting camp experience, with some heading to Campaspe Downs in Kyneton while others participated in engaging onsite activities at school.

For those at Campaspe Downs, it was an action-packed adventure filled with outdoor challenges like raft building, giant swing, and team-building games. Students pushed their limits, made new friends, and overcame fears all while enjoying the beautiful bushland setting.

Meanwhile, students who stayed onsite took part in a range of fun and interactive activities designed to build teamwork and creativity. From scavenger hunts, team building activities to t-shirt decorating and a colour run, there was no shortage of excitement and learning opportunities.

Regardless of the location, the camp experience helped students step out of their comfort zones, develop resilience, and strengthen friendships. It was a fantastic way to kick off their secondary school journey, and we’re sure these memories will last a lifetime!

Optus Digital Workshop

During Week 10 all Year 7 students participated in a Digital Thumbprint workshop run by Optus. The Cyberbullying focus session provided opportunities for students to consider their impact when interacting online. Young people discuss consent online, image-based abuse, including the impact of Artificial Intelligence, and the tools they have to positively support themselves and their peers. Students also explored the importance of respectful relationships online through compelling scenarios.

There is a range of free, downloadable Digital Thumbprint Parent Conversation Guides for parents and care-givers that support you to have effective conversations around what young people should and shouldn’t share online, cyberbullying, and how digital technology can support effective study practices.

Year 8 Talk Money Workshops: Spending and Saving Money

The Year 8 cohort participated in an informative workshop hosted by the Ecstra Foundation. In the Workshop, students explored strategies to make their goals more achievable and developed saving techniques to help manage spending influences while working toward future objectives. We hope these workshops have provided students with valuable insights that will help them become savvy savers and smart spenders.
