YEAR 8 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 7

Assessment Period – Staying Organised and Managing Stress

As we approach the assessment period, students are encouraged to use the Assessment Planner to stay organised and manage their workload effectively. Balancing study with rest and physical activity is key to reducing stress. If your child feels overwhelmed, please remind them to contact their teachers or Pastoral Mentor for support.

Year 8 Adventure Camp – Parent Permission Slip

In the coming weeks, parents/carers will receive the permission slip for the Year 8 Adventure Camp on Fitzroy Island, which will take place in Week 7 of Term 2. While the camp is still some time away, there is much to organise, so we are sending the information out early. Please keep an eye out for the letter, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Laptop Charging Reminder

Several teachers have noticed that students' laptops run out of battery during the day, which suggests they are not being charged overnight. To ensure students can fully participate in lessons, please encourage them to charge their laptops each night as part of their routine. A fully charged device helps them stay engaged and ready for learning throughout the school day.

Uniform Schedule: Week 7

WHOLE-OF-COLLEGE NOTICES:

Cross Country Carnival

The Cross Country Carnival will be held next Tuesday, 11 March. Please refer to the flyer for event timings.

  • 2012 and 2013 students will run the 3-km course, starting at the Teepee.

This is a whole-of-College event, and all students are expected to attend school as usual and participate. Each participant will earn points for their house.

A reminder to please wear and bring the following:

  • House Shirt and Sports Shorts
  • Appropriate Running Shoes

  • Water Bottle and Sunscreen

Parents and carers are welcome to attend; please come along and support your child if you have the capacity to do so!
