YEAR 7 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 7

NAPLAN testing starts Monday!

Please remind your child to charge their laptops and pack their wired headphones to ensure their NAPLAN testing runs smoothly. Being prepared will help them feel confident and ready to tackle the tests. Let's make this a successful and stress-free experience for everyone!

Organisation and Study Habits

As we move into the second half of the term, now is a great time to check in on your child's organisation and study habits. Encouraging them to use their school diary to record homework, assessments, and important dates will help them stay on track during the upcoming assessment period. Simple habits like packing their bag the night before and having a dedicated study space at home can significantly reduce stress and keep them prepared for the school day. If your child finds it challenging to keep up with their workload or needs help managing their time, their Pastoral Mentor or subject teachers are always happy to assist.

Subject Spotlight - Science

This Term in science, students have been building on their knowledge of particles to learn about mixtures and how different types of mixtures are made. They will then investigate various ways to separate mixtures based on their properties. The end-of-term assessment for science will be an exam during the double lesson in Week 9.

For any concerns or queries, please contact our Head of Science, Kate Chapman, at kchapman@cns.catholic.edu.au.

School TV - Accessed via the College website

Young people today are exposed to curated social media highlights, fostering a comparison culture where self-worth depends on how they measure up to others.

For children and teens, this can cause unrealistic expectations, anxiety, and low self-worth. Parents must understand the impact of comparison culture on their child’s self-perception.

Families can help children build resilience and confidence to navigate these challenges.

This Special Report will guide you in empowering your child to thrive:
