Student Activities

Gym
Every Monday afternoon, a dedicated group of 10-15 students have been making the most of the fantastic gym facilities at Mill Park Leisure Centre. This initiative has given students the opportunity to work on their fitness, strength, and endurance while enjoying a fun and supportive environment.
Students have had access to a wide range of equipment, including cardio machines like treadmills, as well as weight machines and free weights. The sessions have been a great mix of individual workouts and friendly challenges, such as seeing who can hold a plank the longest!
Beyond fitness, the gym sessions have also been a great way to build friendships, with both new and returning students motivating and encouraging each other to work hard and stay active. Well done to all students who have taken part! Keep up the great work, and we look forward to seeing more of you at the gym. 💪🔥
Band Practice
Our students have been reacquainting themselves with their instruments after the holidays. They have been hard at work performing songs by Green Day, Nirvana and Weezer. They have been impressive, showing great improvement in a short amount of time, mastering different riffs and playing in unison with their peers. Our goal over the next few weeks is to play and perform a full song successfully.
Dungeons and Dragons
PRC students have embraced Dungeons & Dragons over the course of the school term. Beginning with creativity and expression, players designed their characters, selecting races, classes, and backgrounds to shape their adventurers. Their journey began as they escorted a supply wagon from Neverwinter to Phandalin, encountering their first challenge—a goblin ambush! The players engaged in their first combat, learning attack rolls, movement, and damage calculations. Players have learned to engage in teamwork, supporting each other through battle situations and collaboratively deciding on the party’s next moves as they navigate their adventure.
Bunnings Sausage Sizzle
On this warm Friday morning, at around 8:30 AM, a group of Purple Class students and their education staff converged at Bunnings Warehouse, Mernda, for the day’s sausage sizzle fundraising event.
The Bunnings team was ready for us, and a quick setup was organized. By 9:00 AM, the pleasant barbecue aroma had begun to attract community members in the marquee’s direction.
The morning group, consisting of Ben, Noah H., Josh C., and Ethan, with the help of education staff, did a great job of preparing and serving our customers sizzling hot sausages and cold drinks, as well as handling bookkeeping and accounting for the sales.
An afternoon group arrived at 12:30 PM and was able to relieve the morning team. Aidan, Izzy, Julian, and Declan also worked together very well to ensure the day’s activity was a success.
At around 3:00 PM, the afternoon group helped with the sales tallying before leaving, while staff members Donna, Edie, and Wilson stayed back for any customers who dropped by. Overall, the students were active throughout the exercise and were able to build on their interactive and work-related skills.
