Principals Message

Welcome back to another exciting year at Plenty River College! To our returning parents and students, we’re delighted to have you back. A warm welcome also to our new students and families—we’re thrilled you’ve chosen Plenty River College for your education journey.

Last month, we had a highly successful Student Support Group (SSG) meeting. Thank you to all parents and students who attended. Our SSGs are entirely student-led, providing a valuable opportunity for students to take leadership in shaping their academic plans. We truly appreciate your engagement in this process.

At Plenty River College, student attendance is a key priority. We expect all students to attend school as per their attendance plans, and we welcome any suggestions on how we can further improve student attendance, engagement, and participation. Our dedicated team of teachers, wellbeing staff, and education support staff work tirelessly to ensure every student is supported in their learning journey.

This year, we have expanded our elective activities to cater to our students' diverse interests. These opportunities include volunteering with local community organisations, Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraisers, in-house art and craft sessions, and a variety of sporting activities—including an exciting day at the Melbourne Grand Prix! These activities align with our applied and flexible Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and VCE Vocational Major (VM) curriculums, helping students take their learning beyond the classroom.

We look forward to working alongside our valued partners—parents, students, employers, community organisations, and other schools—to enrich the learning experiences we provide. Thank you for being part of our college community.
