School Captains News

Dear Students, Parents, Staff and School Community,

In the coming issues, we, the 2025 Student Leadership Team will introduce ourselves. We hope our self introduction will help you get to know each of us, especially the Prep and new families.

My name is Keizen. I am one of the School Captains at  St Kevin's Primary School this year. I was born in Australia, but my mum is Japanese so I have a half Japanese heritage. As one of the School Captains, along with Arianna, I will be writing on the School’s newsletter page. Should you like us to cover something, please feel free to ask us.

During my free time I like swimming and playing sports. After school I do a variety of activities such as karate, swimming and Japanese Saturday School. I also enjoy playing games with my friends and sister.

My favourite memory at St Kevin’s was last year’s Phillip Island Camp. We did many activities such as going on a giant swing and archery. I really enjoyed staying the night with my friends and getting to know the teachers really well. I also like how small and welcoming our community is and I hope that you enjoy our school.

In my family I have my mum who is a secondary school teacher, my dad who is a music teacher and my sister Sena in Grade Three who enjoys singing and dancing. I also have five uncles and four aunties. My grandmas make the best food and my Japanese grandpa is the most creative person I know. My other grandpa, whom I didn’t get to meet, who is in heaven, was the most resilient person and I hope to be like him one day.

Thank you so much for your time. Next issue, we would like to introduce the other School Captain - Arianna.

Sincerely, Keizen
