This term in PE, students have been busy preparing for next term’s Athletics events while also training for Cross Country!
There’s been a lot of excitement around Long Jump and High Jump, with students loving the challenge of improving their skills. Next up will be hurdles and sprints.
Our junior students have been focusing on locomotor stations, spatial awareness, and footwork exercises, building confidence in movement and coordination through fun and engaging activities.
Our 5/6 students also had an incredible opportunity to put their swiming skills to the test at Mornington Surf School, where they learned to surf and embraced the waves!
A huge thank you to Tom (the owner), the 5/6 teachers, and Mark for organising and supporting such a fantastic experience. 🌊🏄♀️
It has been a great joy and fun to teach Japanese. I am honoured to start your very first Japanese programme at Ripponlea Primary School. Thank you for having me.
Students are finding many things that come from Japan around us. In our Japanese class, we often sing because it is a great way to learn words and phrases, even the Hiragana, one of the Japanese characters.
Junior students have been enjoying singing the greeting song, the numbers song and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. I even find students singing those songs in the playground at recess or lunchtime.
Senior students are learning the Japanese writing system, and we are starting to read Japanese words written in Hiragana.
I am already seeing lots of progress in their learning and looking forward to teaching more.
