Year 1/2

Learning Reflection

Weeks 7 & 8,  Term 1

We are learning about polygons. A polygon is a shape made of straight lines. The sides connect to form a closed shape. There are no gaps or curves.

During our Daily Review in maths, we practise writing numbers on our whiteboards and then 'chin it' to show our understanding.

We are learning about number bonds and commutative law with addition.

We practise 'heart words' everyday. Heart words are words that are high frequency words with irregular spelling patterns.

Feeling proud of our handwriting!

We are writing and drawing about the book 'Where the Wild Things Are'. Max was up to mischief, which is one of our new vocabulary words!

We are proud of our 'Celebration' watercolour paintings reflecting the diverse backgrounds of Sunshine Heights Primary School.

Library sessions are a great time to read and share books with our friends.  We read books with some Grade 6 students.

The Grade 2's practising their moves for Harmony Day at Sunshine College. What stars we all are!

We had a wonderful day at our Cultural Dress Day and Family Picnic during our Harmony Week Celebrations.

What an amazing night we had at our Harmony Day Block Party! So many happy smiles from so many students and families. We are so proud of the grade one and two students who demonstrated all of our school values as well as some pretty impressive dance moves! The night was a huge success and we would like to thank and recognise the hard work and dedication from Miss Jasmine and all the specialist teachers for creating such a memorable night.
