Grade 1 & 2 Learning-

English & French

This term, the Grade 1–2 students have really enjoyed exploring measurement in Maths. Using a hands-on approach, they estimated, measured and compared length using a variety of objects from around the classroom. There was lots of excitement as they tested their ideas and used different strategies to solve word problems linked to measurement.

In Inquiry, we’ve been learning all about carnivorous plants and how they catch bugs. The students have loved this topic and have shown great creativity through posters, diagrams and artwork that show what they’ve discovered.

In French, we’ve been reading the Le Loup books and following the adventures of the cheeky wolf. Students have enjoyed practising new vocabulary and building their own sentences using the story structure. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they write more freely and creatively in French.

In Intercultural Studies, we’ve explored stories from around the world and looked at how they connect to different countries and their histories. The students have enjoyed learning through storytelling and discovering new perspectives.
