Principal`s Message

As we approach the Winter Solstice, I often reflect on how important it is to stop and observe our environment. The cold damp air on my face. The scent of the bush. The sound of the birds and the trees, of twigs snapping underfoot. Winter for me is also a time for comfort, good food and warmth, engaging with friends and family and for a talk beside the fire.

We are nearing end of another busy term, it is a good time to reflect on our journey together as a school community. It has been a period filled with growth, challenges, and achievements that have shaped the educational experience of our students in many ways.

This week I have been reading through reports. Academically, I am pleased to report that our students have made significant strides. Our dedicated teachers have worked diligently to implement engaging lessons and provide individualised support where needed. Whether it was mastering new concepts in math, delving into exciting science experiments, or exploring the world through books, our students have demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and should be congratulated for their efforts this term.

School Assembly: Families are welcome to attend school assembly next Friday 20th June at 3pm outside near George St playground. ( weather permitting). We will be announcing School Captains.

As we pass the solstice I am encouraged that after the holidays the promise of brighter days ahead makes me excited for an eventful Term 3.

End of term

It has been a term to celebrate, with a lot of work and learning accomplished. We thank everyone for their support of the school.

This is a reminder that we have an early dismissal at 2:30 pm. on Friday 4th July. Please make sure you have arrangements in place for the early pickup.

Reports

Families will receive their child’s personal report via the COMPASS portal on Friday 4th July. Please share this report with your child and celebrate their many achievements over this current semester. I would like to congratulate all students on their individual progress. It has been so pleasing reading their reports, identifying what they have been learning and their strengths.

I would also like to acknowledge our teachers, who have already spent many hours going through assessment data, tracking the learning of each student and effectively reporting their progress.

Child safety and wellbeing at Fitzroy Primary School: information for families and the school community

Our child safety framework explains how we support and maintain child safety and wellbeing at Fitzroy. It includes our:
