Celebrating a Successful Semester and Looking Ahead!

As Semester 1 draws to a close, we warmly congratulate all our students on their incredible achievements. It's been a busy and rewarding half-year, filled with so many wonderful learning experiences to reflect upon. We can't wait to celebrate your child's progress with you at next week's learning conferences.

Next term promises even more exciting learning experiences. Our Middles students will embark on their camp, and our Senior students will delve into their Exhibition on the transdisciplinary theme of Sharing the Planet. This inquiry will explore the interdependence of human and natural worlds, focusing on rights, responsibilities, and pathways to a just future.

We are currently seeking provocation day presenters for the "Sharing the Planet" unit. If you're available to support this program, please contact the school.

A true highlight for all at Highton PS next term will be our "How We Express Ourselves" Unit of Inquiry. This transdisciplinary theme invites an inquiry into the diversity of voice, perspectives, and expression. We will explore inspiration, imagination, creativity, and the many ways we communicate. As part of this unit, we are thrilled to host a wonderful Book Week provocation week, culminating in our much-loved Book Parade during Week 6.

Our students will be inquiring into central ideas tailored to their year levels:

  • Foundations: Stories have a purpose.
  • Juniors: Stories educate, entertain, and spark our imaginations.
  • Middles: Authors and illustrators communicate their thoughts and ideas.
  • Seniors: Poetry reflects culture and self.

We are consistently humbled by the support and efforts of our parent community throughout the semester. Thank you for your continued partnership in making Highton PS a vibrant learning environment.

Kind Regards
