In celebration of our 70th anniversary

To underscore how highly MGSC is esteemed, look no further than the number of principals who have left our college to assume this role at MacRobertson Girls’ High School which is the state’s preeminent selective school for female students.  The first principal to accept this honour was our inaugural leader - Nina Carr, who became head of the school in 1966 following guiding MGSC through the embryonic stages of our development.

In late 1997 Lesley Boston also became a principal at MacRob, after helping establish the VCE, which in 1991 signalled a major change in curriculum direction for Victoria. She oversaw our Year 11 and 12 students becoming a discrete entity within the college, marked by the wearing of maroon jumpers to distinguish themselves from the younger students.

Most recently, Toni Meath taught at MGSC in the classroom, before taking the reins of the Professional Development portfolio and briefly being installed as an acting principal at our college Toni was principal at another selective educational  institution - Nossal High, before she was appointed at MacRobertson GHS. Today she has recently been reappointed as principal at Melbourne Girls’ Grammar school.

The achievements of these ladies are testament to the quality of leadership demonstrated at MGSC throughout our history and an endorsement of their initiative and resourcefulness which are invaluable traits in leadership positions.
