Year One/Two News

What a busy time the Year Ones and Two are having as we approach the end of Term Two!
InitiaLit is still going strong, and we are witnessing a lot of growth in our students as we continue to learn new spelling patterns, with a particular focus on how to use 'the bossy 'e''. Students have also been really engaged in the craft activity that they produce each week. This craft relates directly to the storybook that has been a focus throughout the week. It is a nice way to cap off a really successful week of learning.
Students have also been re-introduced to the fundamentals of what goes into an Information Report. Students have developed pieces of writing on different Australian animals and are now exploring an animal of their choice to write about.
We continue to work really hard in Maths, with students completing their first PAT Maths assessment this week. This will add to the data teachers collect and be a vital element in the explicit teaching that occurs next term.
