Acting Principal Update

Thursday 19th June

Staffing Update

This Friday, we will be saying goodbye to one of our much-loved Education Support staff members, Sharyn. Sharyn has been a valuable member of staff since 2018, and the students, staff and community would like to thank Sharyn for her hard work and positive contributions she has made to our school over the years. We wish Sharyn all the very best as she moves on to new ventures!

Foundation 2026

Just a quick reminder to spread the word that Menzies Creek PS will be running a straight Prep class next year, which will provide a consistent and effective learning experience for our littlest students. It is such a great opportunity for these students to experience intensive support and personalised learning in a wonderful, nurturing environment! For further details or if you know anyone who is interested in a school tour, please contact either myself, or Kate in the office.

Annie – The Musical!

On August 6th, there will be a whole school excursion to see Annie – The Musical at the Princess Theatre. This is a fabulous opportunity for our students to experience live theatre at a reduced cost. This is by no means a compulsory event, although it would be great to have as many students attend as possible to make it a positive school experience with their peers. Please see the Compass post in order to secure your child’s ticket.

Only the $24 deposit is currently due, as the number of students attending will determine the final costing, although it is estimated to be around $80 in total (including bus transport to and from the venue).

Celebration of Learning

We warmly invite our families, friends, and the wider community to join us in celebrating our students’ learning! This special event will take place from 3:00 PM on Wednesday, 2nd July. You’re welcome to explore the wonderful projects our students have been working on in their classrooms. Don’t miss our exciting ‘Under the Sea’ exhibition—enter through the basketball court doors and follow the corridor past the Art and STEM rooms to see the incredible creativity on display. To wrap up the afternoon, enjoy a delicious sausage from our fundraising sausage sizzle!

We’ll be sharing more details soon and look forward to seeing you there!

School Disco

Everyone had a fantastic time at the school disco last Thursday night! A massive thank you goes out to the incredible parents who planned and managed the event. The hours of hard work and dedication put into preparing and running the evening were clearly appreciated, as seen in the students’ smiling faces and the buzz of excitement throughout the night. We’d also like to extend a big thanks to Daniel for being a fantastic MC, and to Alison for helping out and joining in the fun!

Lightning Premiership

Congratulations to all the students who participated in today’s Lightning Premiership in Emerald! You showcased great integrity and pride while representing our school, and every team secured some victories. It was a fantastic day, and it was truly enjoyable to see everyone giving their best and having fun with their sport.
