Parent Teacher Conferences
It was great to see such a fantastic attendance for our Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday. This is such a great opportunity to celebrate students’ progress and find out more about their next steps so you are in a better position to support your child.
If for some reason you are one of the few parents who didn’t get a chance to catch up, please reschedule with the classroom teacher as soon as possible at the start of next term. This could be face-to-face or over the phone.
Swimming Program
The Swimming Program for students in Years 2 to 6 will be conducted over the first 2 weeks of term starting on Wednesday, 23rd of July. Take the opportunity over the holidays to organise a bag, bathers and a towel. Students can wear their bathers underneath their uniform. Don’t forget to bring underwear to change into. It’s also a good idea to label students clothing with their name. We do have a few spots left, so if your child is interested in attending please return the permission note, medical form and $20 (cash) by tomorrow morning.
Pyjama Day
Pyjama day provided staff and students a welcome distraction and a bit of fun during a long term. I certainly enjoyed wearing my cuddly pjs and dressing gown. It was initially a little awkward when I was enrolling a new family, but we all had a giggle.
Thank you to everyone for their gold coin donation which raised $255.00 for State Schools' Relief. An amazing organisation which provides free uniforms, shoes and many other items to students in need.
Holidays
As always, cleaners will be at the school over the holidays. However, should you see anything that you are concerned about in the school grounds, please do not hesitate to call the police on 000. Thank you for helping us look after our school.
Attendance
Congratulations to all the students who attended school 100% in Term 2. Certificates will be handed out at assembly next term.
Children online over the holidays
We know that children love to use technology and spend time online but we also know that this can be a tricky environment for them to navigate as they are not aware of some of the dangers.
We learned recently that some of our students have had some issues online with each other. Sometimes they will say unkind things to each other and use language they would not generally use face to face. They do not always understand the impact of this and the trust that is lost. This can affect their relationships at school.
I am reminding parents to engage with their children and teach them about how to be safe online. For example:
I have also included some different agencies that can be contacted by students or their families to seek assistance and advice regarding Online environments (see below).
Thank you for your continued support over Term 2. Have a safe and enjoyable break.
I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, 21st of July for the start of Term 3.
Kind Regards,

Dear Families,
With the current online events still being investigated and the upcoming holidays, we are aware that some families are concerned about the mental health of our children. We thought it might be timely to remind children and families of online services that are here to help us.

We continue to thank you for your support at this time and encourage you to continue to speak to your children about online safety and the dangers of social media platforms, like TikTok and Snapchat that require you to be 13 years old.
