Safety Reminder

đ Safety Reminder: Electrical Appliance Checks at Home
As we continue to support safe learning environments, we encourage all families to check and maintain electrical appliances at home, especially those used regularly by students.
Many high school students use devices such as:
- đ» Desktop computers & laptops
- đź Gaming consoles & monitors
- đ Chargers & power boards
- đ„ Portable heaters
- đș TVs and streaming devices
Over time, these appliances can become worn, damaged, or unsafe, increasing the risk of overheating, electrical faults, fire, or electric shock.
đ What to Look For:
- Frayed or damaged power cords and plugs
- Burn marks, unusual smells, or buzzing sounds
- Overloaded power boards or tangled cords
- Heaters placed too close to bedding, curtains, or furniture
â Why Testing and Tagging Matters:
- Helps detect hidden faults before they become dangerous
- Ensures older appliances are still safe to use
- Increases the lifespan of electronics through proper maintenance
- Gives peace of mindâespecially with high-wattage items like heaters
- Safer sleep and study environments for your child
We recommend having electrical items professionally tested and tagged by a licensed technician, especially if they are used frequently or appear damaged.
Letâs keep safety a priorityâboth at school and at home
