Prep Transition for 2024

It was lovely to be able to welcome our 2024 Preps to their first Transition session last week. Thank you to the Year 6 Captains for their assistance.

The Transition Sessions for the remainder of the year will also include the rest of our school, enabling us to support your children to transition to next year’s classes.  The dates are as follows:

Thursday 9th November

Tuesday 21st November

Tuesday 12th December

 Attending in 2024

We are close to finalising our Prep enrolment for 2024 and another important piece of information we need when planning for a new school year is how many students we will have across the rest of the school. This information is essential when we are planning the number of classes at each level and how much money will be available for staffing, specialist programs, etc.

If you know that your child will not be at Malvern Primary School in 2024, please let Robyn James know in writing as soon as possible (email: robyn.james@education.vic.gov.au).

We realise that some families find this conversation difficult for a range of reasons, however it will be a huge assistance to us to know as soon as possible.

Thank you to those families who have already provided this information.

Grade Placements for 2024

Each year we invite parents for any input regarding the social and emotional needs of their children at school. This year we are asking parents to complete an online form if they have any input they would like to offer.

The teachers in your child's current year level will be forming grades for the following year. They will use their considerable knowledge of your child to ensure that they will be placed in an environment that best supports their learning.

Please note that simply listing other students who your child may be friends with does not support the grade placement, we are looking for a greater understanding of your child's individual needs.

Only requests submitted on the online form will be considered.  If you have already had a conversation with your child's teacher or sent an email to the school, we will require you to complete this form also.

Forms are to be submitted by 4pm, Friday 10th November.

Hats

All students must be wearing an appropriate hat at school during outside periods.  Please do not send your child to school with a cap or visor as these do not offer appropriate sun protection.  Hats are available from Bob Stewart.
