Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)

At SFS, our school expectations are:

Respect

Responsibility and

Kindness

This week we have continued to focus on RESPECT, Care for Self. The children have focused in class on what this means and what it might look like in the learning space, outdoors and in the toilets. Some of the ways the children can show care for self is by asking for help when they need it, checking in with a teacher or friend when they are upset and looking after their personal hygiene such as washing their hands.

Here are 2 of our lucky raffle winners from last week who were demonstrating our school expectations.

Lunchtime Games Club

In term 4, we will be having a lunchtime games club. This will run on Wednesday during 2nd lunch. All children are most welcome to come. We will play different games and practice using social skills like turn taking, using manners, being a good sport and conflict resolution. We had our first games club this week. The children really enjoyed playing together and working co-operatively.

Here are some photos of the children who came to Games club on Wednesday this week. We talked about taking turns, playing the game fairly, ways to include others in the game and what to say to each other at the end of a game.

The action for November is all about trying new things. Why not try some of these ideas with your family in the month of November.

There are many benefits to trying new things such as:

  • improved memory, mood and motivation
