STEM Showcase - Year 5 and Year 6 - Tuesday 31 October, 2023
On Tuesday the 31 October, Year 5 and 6 students will participate in a STEM Showcase which is the culmination of their integrated studies in Digital Technology, Science and Geography. We have invited students from four other Sydney schools who have also been working on this project to join our girls on site.
Year 6 students will present prototypes which have been designed to accelerate progress towards the United National Sustainable Goals, and Year 5 students will present prototypes which are aimed at reducing the impact of natural disasters on people and places. After the STEM Showcase, the students will take part in a coding competition using Sphero programmable robots.
Students may wear their PE uniforms on this day.
Year 2 Excursion Clifton Gardens - Thursday November 9, 2023
On Thursday, November 9, Year 2 students will be embarking on a hands-on fieldwork excursion to Clifton Gardens to consolidate their Science Unit on the Wonders of Water focusing on caring for our natural resources, particularly water.
They will examine various environments, go bug-catching and learn to appreciate their own role in caring for our world and being more environmentally aware both locally and globally.
A permission form will be sent out this afternoon for parents to complete.
Year 1 Excursion: A Journey Through Time at the Sydney Tramway Museum - Tuesday 15 November, 2023
On Tuesday, November 15, 2023, our Year 1 students will embark on an exciting adventure to the Sydney Tramway Museum. As part of their HSIE Unit on "Present and Past Family Life," they'll step into the past with a real tram ride, explore historical artefacts, and unleash their creativity with sketching. This immersive excursion promises a fun and educational day, helping them understand the impact of changing technology on our lives.

The final day of school for girls in Massie House will be Wednesday 6 December, 2023. (normal dismissal times apply).
Year 2 Merit Assembly will be held on Friday 1 December, 2023 from 9.00 - 10.30am in the Music Performance Theatre at Kambala. Parents of girls in Year 2 are warmly invited to attend.
Save the Date - End of Term 4 and Academic Year - Thursday 7 December, 2023
Speech Day - Thursday 7 December, 2023- 11.00am - 1.00pm, State Theatre
Year 3 to Year 12 Speech Day will be held again this year at the State Theatre in Market Street, Sydney.
It is an expectation that all girls in Years 3 - 12 attend in full school uniform with a parent/s to hear the address and support students who will receive prizes.
A Speech Day official invitation will be sent in coming weeks from the school for Year 3 to Year 12 parents.
Massie House sisters who attend Speech Day will need to attend in their school uniform.
