Primary Captains Assembly | World Teachers' Day,
Year 6 Students dressed-up as a teacher who inspires them!
From our youngest to our oldest, it was wonderful to see the Primary students enjoying all the activities on offer at school during the first few weeks of Term 4.
Playgroup
Our Playgroups run every Wednesday in the ELC. Children from just a few months of age, up to three years old, attend for an hour each week. Ms Tamara Bailey, our Playgroup Organiser, provides an amazing variety of engaging activities each week involving both inside and outside play. We have had Rainbow, Music and Nature themes and next week we are all looking forward to messy play day. The Playgroups have been a wonderful opportunity to help children with the transition into Little Wollies.
Year 5 Encounter
Our Year 5 students enjoyed their Encounter experience at Swan Valley Adventure Centre. The Blackout Room, canoeing and the food were some of the highlights shared when I visited on Tuesday. It was wonderful to hear the students reflecting on their personal achievements involving risk taking, bravery and teamwork. Many stepped out of their comfort zones and came away with a real sense of achievement after participating in the various activities. There were many tales of students overcoming their fear of heights when doing the flying fox and possum glider. I think the flying fox was also enjoyed by the staff members who showed that they are really big kids at heart!
Please enjoy the following pictures which capture the fun of the few days.

World Teachers’ Day
Last Friday, the Primary Captains enjoyed presenting the Primary Assembly. This Assembly celebrated ‘World Teachers’ Day’, with the Captains focusing on the theme for this year, ‘Hats off to Teachers’.
As Captains, we dressed up as the teachers who inspire us in the School and we talked about what we liked and appreciated about these teachers. We had great fun at the end of the Assembly, throwing our hats in the air!

Below are some of the speeches that the Captains read out.
Hats off to Mrs Zecca. Although Mrs Zecca isn’t my teacher this year, it was a blast having her as my teacher in Years 2 and 4. She is inspirational to me by being a kind and caring person to all students. I love how she is always making jokes to lighten the mood. I enjoyed having Mrs Zecca as my mentor during Exhibition. She inspired me to go deeper with my research and take action on my topic, so thank you. Hats off to Mrs Zecca!

Hats off to Mrs Hewson. Mrs Hewson was my Year 5 teacher. She helped me so much through the year and I am just so thankful for her. She is so kind. She has made me want to be a teacher when I grow up. Hats off to Mrs Hewson!
