2024 Primary Leadership 

Leadership can be defined as influence. It is an ability that can be grown, developed and adapted for each person and situation. Everybody has the potential to lead and influence. A leader’s journey to effectively influence can be accelerated by focus, training and experience. This week in Stage 3 the process for election of the 2024 Primary Leadership Team begins. On Wednesday 22 November, Year 5 cohort participated in a “Growing into Leadership'' retreat facilitated by a LaSallian Youth Ministry team.  Participants on this retreat began on their leadership journey. The retreat explored three key factors that can accelerate the participants' growth into leadership. The three accelerants are: Community, Service and Faith. 

As well as the leadership retreat the students will engage in “exploring and understanding leadership” in the classroom. The 2023 leaders will speak to Year 5 about their time as leaders and the responsibilities that come with the role. The students will watch leadership videos and engage in conversations about how impressive student leaders act. 

At the end of the week, staff and students will then nominate 5 boys and 5 girls each. Votes will be tallied and a shortlist for the second round will be formed. Staff and students will then preference vote their top 2. 

The 2024 student leaders will be announced at the end of year prizegiving.
