Principal News

I am sure we would all agree that the weather has been very strange this week with spurts of high heat and heavy rain all on the same day! This hasn't stopped us from having another great week of teaching and learning on 'The Fields'. There will be many students who are excited to receive their prizes as a result of their fundraising efforts for our school colour run.

At 11.00 Friday our school student leaders Keyaan, Taylor, Hunter and Karishma presented a Remembrance Day address over the PA system across the school. Our student school leaders spoke about the significance of Remembrance Day, played the last post and the school observed 1 minute silence.  We have a lovely display of poppies and wreaths that have been made by our students hanging from the front gate of our school. Thank you to those students who were involved in creating these.

Friday  I followed my nose to chase the aroma coming from the Banyan Fields Masterchef Kitchen. I had a great time visiting our Year 3 students cooking up a storm. They were making various dips that they were able to enjoy with vegetable sticks and tortilla chips. Well done to our Year 3 students and staff for all of their great learning as part of our Masterchef program.

I did share earlier this week that I will be leaving Banyan Fields Primary School at the end of the school year. I have accepted the position of Principal at Mount Martha Primary School from the beginning of the 2024 school year. Between now and the end of the year I will be catching up with as many students, staff and families as I can. I have a very strong connection to our school and I will greatly miss Banyan Fields Primary School.
