During October, we conducted an English Workshop and came together to commemorate two exciting events - the 16th Founder's Day of Merlion School and Halloween.

English Workshop

On October 14th, as the sun painted the morning sky with hues of soft pink and golden rays, the Primary English Language Workshop unfolded in a serene setting.

Three groups of language enthusiasts and eager learners gathered for an enriching experience featuring the compelling theme ‘Unlocking the Secret of Language Through Active Learning.’ Hosted by dedicated Primary English Language teachers, the workshop offered participants an immersive journey of language exploration that left a lasting impact. An atmosphere brimming with exuberant enthusiasm filled the air as the students marched into the room. It was a welcoming offer for all the students to become active participants in the world of language learning. Various interactive language activities, including scavenger hunts, riddle-solving, and mysteries, engrossed the learners and put their language skills to the test. These activities sparked vibrant discussions and served as a platform for the participants to articulate their thoughts and ideas.

Founder's Day - "Transitioning with Heart and Home"

In a heartwarming celebration, we honoured the theme of "Transitioning with Heart and Home: Merlion's School Journey to SIS Surabaya" during the Founder's Day event. This marked a significant milestone, celebrating 16 remarkable years of Merlion School's journey.

As we set sail on a new chapter transitioning to SIS Surabaya, we took a moment to reflect on our rich history and embrace the promise of a thrilling future in education. This event paid tribute to the 16 years of unwavering commitment to learning and growth, emphasising our path towards SIS Surabaya. Students and teachers had the opportunity to engage in various challenges, making the day even more memorable.

A delightful surprise was in store for us during the celebration, as Mum Ely treated us to the heartwarming gift of Nasi Tumpeng for lunch. The generosity and thoughtfulness of our school community shone brightly, and we're deeply grateful to Mum Ely for adding a delicious touch to our celebration. Every bite of the Nasi Tumpeng was savoured with delight.

Founder's Day served as a testament to the legacy we continue to uphold, symbolising our unwavering dedication to providing quality education for years to come. Here's to the past, the present, and the promising future that lies ahead!

Halloween - A Spooktacular Treat

Our Halloween celebration brought delight to our youngest learners from Preschool and Lower Primary. They embarked on a classic trick-or-treat adventure, going door to door, spreading giggles, and collecting sweet treats that illuminated their faces with joy. The excitement was truly contagious!

Meanwhile, our Upper Primary to Pre-University 2 students enjoyed thrilling games, all thanks to our fantastic Student Council. Laughter filled the corridors as they embraced the Halloween spirit. These events are more than just fun; they create magical memories and foster a sense of togetherness. Our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made these exciting days possible!
