BYO iPad Portal Open

Our parent portal is now open again for iPad purchases through Edunet for 2023/24. We have worked with the company for a number of years with the advantages of ordering though the portal including insurance, payment options, a delivery date and accessories. Orders need to be placed by October/November for delivery. Every year we open the portal around this time to support our Year 2 families purchasing for their children in readiness for Year 3.

Maths Open Morning

Thank you so much to families who attended our Maths Open Morning on Friday at 9am. Further to what Kate and Emily talked about, here is a link to the slides with helpful links you might like to explore at home.

Two Mini Lunches

As students return back to the routines of school we notice they need more food in their lunch boxes. We often talk about two mini lunches to help. Students will often finish their lunch at lunch time and then not have anything for recess. Jane, Ally and Rahima have been helping out this week with extra fruit for students who are hungry. Lunch time is 11.30am - 12.30pm with students having had three 50 minute sessions of learning and then recess follows another two 50 minute sessions of learning, with a 30 minute break at 2.10pm to 2.40pm.

Moving House

If your child will not be attending Mount Pleasant Road in 2024 (other than current Year 6 students) please notify the school in writing and include the name of the new school if known. This helps us to organise a smooth transition for your child and assists us greatly with class planning for next year.

Class Placements for 2024

Teachers put a great deal of thought into class placement for all students. The aim is to create balanced classes and take into consideration individual needs, as well as friendship options, to allow for the best possible outcomes for all students.

Every student will be asked for friendship preferences and every effort is made to give them at least one friend from their list. Apart from friendship groups, teachers will take into consideration the behaviour, academic achievement levels, gender balance and social and emotional needs of students.

If you have a request to be taken into consideration for your child to support their education then please submit this in writing by emailing me at the school email address mt.pleasant.road.ps@education.vic.gov.au to from Friday 6th October to Friday 27th October. Parent requests are considered alongside various factors and are not guaranteed After the 28th October teachers commence creating classes and further requests cannot be considered.

Our Step Up program ensures all students and families know their 2024 class well alongside the teacher and classroom location.
