Principal’s Report

Father’s Day Breakfast and Stall

Thank you to all the dads and special people who joined us on Friday for breakfast. It was a lovely morning of coffee, croissants, Vegemite on toast and fresh fruit, made even better by the wonderful company.

A special thanks to Jacinta for organising the delicious food and to the team of helpers who made the morning run so smoothly. We also thank our P&F for organising the Father’s Day stall and gifts. It was fantastic to return to a true ‘shop’ experience for our students.

Finally, a big thank you to our staff, who helped students create those extra touches to celebrate their dads and special people on Father’s Day.

Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival

Last Wednesday, representatives from Grades 3–6 took part in the Catholic Athletics. Some of our students have now progressed to the Division Athletics next Monday.

Congratulations to Henry Macnee and Gabriella Ciancio on receiving the Best Contributor Medal for the day. A big thank you to the staff who attended, and best of luck to all students competing next Monday!

Book Fair

Last week our students and families enjoyed the excitement of our Book Fair. Many children encouraged their parents and carers to come along and choose something special. The fair not only allowed families to share a love of reading but also helped to contribute valuable books and resources to our school library. We are grateful for the support of our community in making this fundraiser such a success.

Season of Creation

Pope Francis and the Australian Bishops invite all Catholics to join in the ecumenical Season of Creation, which runs from 1 September (World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation) to 4 October (Feast of St Francis of Assisi). This is a special time of prayer and action as we care for our common home. On Friday, our Grade 6 student leaders joined with others from across the diocese for the annual Season of Creation Outdoor Mass, a beautiful celebration of faith and stewardship.

Division Basketball

Also on Friday, our Grade 6 students proudly represented St Kilian's at the Division Basketball. Both our boys’ and girls’ teams played with great spirit, enjoying a fun and rewarding day of competition.

A special congratulations to our boys’ team, who finished runners-up and have now qualified to compete at the regional competition next term. Well done to all involved!

SunSmart

St Kilian's bucket hats are compulsory from September 1st to April 30th for all outside activities.  New hats are available from the uniform shop. Even though the sun might be hiding behind clouds it is time to recommence wearing our hats.

R U OK? Day

Tomorrow, we acknowledged R U OK? Day, a National Day of Action that reminds us to check in on those around us. Our students took time to learn about the importance of caring for others, starting conversations, and being good listeners.

At St Kilian’s, we encourage everyone to make every day an opportunity to ask, “Are you OK?” and to show kindness and support to those who may need it. Together, we can help create a caring and connected community.

Sports Colours Day

Students and staff are encouraged to wear their favourite sports colours! We invite everyone to come dressed in the colours of their favourite team or sport. This could be NRL, AFL, cricket, tennis, soccer, basketball, netball, baseball, junior footy or any other sport you love. Let’s fill the school with colour and team spirit! A Tuckshop Special will also be available.

 St Kilian's Movie Night Postponed

Please note that our St Kilian's Movie Night has been postponed until 2026. Families who have already purchased tickets will receive a reimbursement in the coming days. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Grade 5 Camp – Campaspe Downs

Our Grade 5 students are getting ready for their upcoming camp to Campaspe Downs. We are excited for the opportunities this outdoor adventure camp will bring, a chance to challenge themselves, build teamwork and create lasting memories. A big thank you to the staff who are supporting and accompanying the students to make this experience possible. We wish our campers all the best for a fun and rewarding adventure!

End of Term 3

School concludes at 2:15 pm on Friday 19th September, with term 4 commencing on Monday 6th October at 9 am.

School Uniform

Correct school uniform is required and the following rules should be observed:

(a) Complete school uniform should be worn on every normal school day, right shoes, socks, jumpers and hats.

(b) School tracksuit and sneakers are to be worn only on Phys Ed/Sports/Gym days.

(c) If a full school uniform or tracksuit is not worn on the appropriate day, a written explanation should be given to your child's class teacher.

(d) Hair should be neatly tied back if it is shoulder length or below.

(e) Students remain under cover if they are not wearing a hat during terms 1&4.

(f) Jewellery, a wristwatch may be worn. A plain neck-chain may only be worn if it includes a small cross, crucifix or Christian medallion. Earrings, sleeper or studs. Nail Polish is not to be worn.

2026 Students

Planning for the 2026 school year has begun. To assist with this process, if you know your child (in Grade Prep to 5) will be leaving St Kilian’s School at the end of the year, except the graduating Grade 6 class, could you please inform me via email or a letter of your intentions as soon as possible. By doing this, it will assist in organising staffing and class numbers for the 2026 school year. I thank you for your assistance, in advance, for the parents who this applies
