Last week, I attended the Term 3 REC Coodinator network days in Armidale. They were filled with rich opportunities for deepening our faith and strengthening our Catholic identity. We began the day with a beautiful Mass at the Cathedral, a special time to gather as a Diocesan Community in prayer and thanksgiving. It was a wonderful reminder of the importance of celebrating the Eucharist as the source and summit of our faith.
Throughout the two days, there was a key focus of the SALT Approach (Scripture and Liturgy Teaching Approach) showcasing inspiring resources for both teachers and students, which help bring Scripture and Liturgy alive in meaningful and practical ways for our young learners.
An “Around the Grounds” session gave us insight into the incredible work happening across other schools in our Diocese. It was uplifting to hear how each community is living out the Gospel in unique and powerful ways. On the second day we were treated to a
Holy Mass Workshop with Bishop Peter Murphy, supporting our schools in preparing liturgies that are both reverent and engaging, helping our students grow in their understanding and love of the Mass.
These gatherings are an important part of Leading Well in Armidale Catholic Schools, ensuring that we continue to grow as leaders of faith and learning, supporting our students and staff in their spiritual journeys. We look forward to continuing to share these experiences with our school community and to living out our mission as a Christ Centered Learning Community.
Bishop Murphy’s Safeguarding Sunday message was released over the weekend. It can be viewed and shared from:

As we move into the final term of the year, we warmly invite families to join us in celebrating Mass with our young people. Each mass is a special opportunity for our school community to gather in prayer and thanksgiving, marking key moments in the Church’s liturgical calendar and our school year.
Upcoming Masses:
Fri 17th Oct. ES1 - Feast of Saint Ignatius of Antioch
Fri 31st Oct. S3 - Theme related to All Saints Day
Fri 21st Nov. S2 - Feast of The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Mon 8th Dec. S1 - Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Thur 17th Dec. Graduation Mass – celebrating our Stage 3 students as they prepare to begin the next step of their journey
We encourage parents, carers and parishioners to join us for these special celebrations as we give thanks for the blessings of 2025 and prepare our hearts for the Christmas season.
Our Mini Vinnies Committee is excited to announce that we will be taking part in Socktober this year! As part of our commitment to helping those in need through the St Vincent de Paul Society, we will be running a special Socktober event on Friday the 24th of October, Week 2 in Term 4.
In preparation, we are asking our school community to kindly donate gently used socks. These socks won’t go to waste – they will be repurposed by students to create soccer balls, helping us learn about how children in developing countries use simple materials to play the world’s game.
More details about the event will be shared early next term, but for now, we would love your support in collecting as many socks as possible. Donations can be sent in with your child and placed in the collection baskets located in each classroom. We ask for all donations to be at school by Wednesday, the 22nd of October.
Thank you for your generosity and for supporting our Mini Vinnies students in putting their faith into action. Together, we can make a real difference!
Please join our Parish to celebrate the Eucharist. Our Parish offers daily masses at 9:00am and two Mass times every weekend.
