Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
THE JUNGLE BOOK PERFORMANCE WEDNESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2025
TWO PERFORMANCES 12:00pm AND 7:00pm
We are very excited to present The Jungle Book at Warrnambool Primary School on Wednesday 3rd September 2025. Students and staff have been working incredibly hard to learn lines, songs and dances, and we can’t wait to share their efforts with our school community.
12:00pm - Matinee Performance
Students are to wear their school uniform to school and will change into costumes at school.
7:00pm - Evening Performance
Students are to return to school at 6:15pm, dressed in their costumes.
This is a curriculum event, and attendance is an expectation for all students. If your child is unable to attend, please record this by declining the event on Compass. Below is a parent information sheet with frequently asked questions so please ensure you have a read.
We look forward to seeing our students shine on the big stage in this wonderful performance!
ONE SCHOOL - MANY CULTURES MULTICULTURAL DAY AT WARRNAMBOOL PRIMARY SCHOOL
We were very fortunate to celebrate the many and varied cultures within our school community during our recent Cultural Day. Despite the rain, it was a wonderful event filled with colour, energy and learning.
Students enjoyed a wide range of activities, including:
- Thai Dancing
- Cultural stories and songs
- Origami
- Japanese Drums
- Tai Chi
- Dumpling and Sushi making
A big thank you to Wei-Lin Mai and Nikki Marris for their outstanding organisation of the day. It was also especially heart-warming to see so many students dressed in ways that reflected and celebrated their cultural backgrounds.
Our Multicultural Day was a fantastic opportunity for our school community to come together, learn from one another, and celebrate the diversity that makes Warrnambool Primary School such a special place.
ARTWORK BY NATASHA STARICK
Written by Natasha
Every Tuesday I got to Koroit for my art lessons with my art teacher, Jenny Phillips. We spend an hour and a half working on painting or a sketch, and discussing what we can do for our artwork. I’ve been doing these lessons with her for over a year now, and I have completed two sketches, five paintings and I am currently working on a drawing of a cheetah. My ‘Eiffel Tower’ painting took about 4-5 lessons (roughly 5-6 hours). I decided to do a French painting since I have always loved Paris and thought it’d be fun to paint!
WARRNAMBOOL RUNNING FESTIVAL – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Warrnambool Running Festival will take place on Sunday 21st September, and our school has been invited to assist with volunteering on the day.
We are seeking parent helpers who are available between 7:00am and 1:00pm to support this fantastic community event.
As an added bonus, the school will receive a donation for every person who volunteers their time, helping us raise valuable funds for our students.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school office by Friday 12th September.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
SCHOOL HATS - FROM MONDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER
In line with our school SunSmart policy and the recommendations of the Cancer Council we ask that students school hats are washed and returned to school by Monday 1st September.
The UV levels for Victoria are rising to 3 and above and whilst we do understand children need some exposure to UV rays and the vitamins the sun provides, students will be required to wear their school hats from Monday 1st September.
If you require a new hat they are available for purchase at the school office.
Whilst Sunscreen is supplied in all classes and PE, if your child has an allergy and you would like to supply their own please send it along to school.
Thank you for your assistance in this important matter.

PARENT CARE-GIVER SURVEY
At the beginning of last week, a large selection of parents and caregivers were sent a link to complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey.
If you received this link, we kindly ask that you complete and submit the survey. We understand it does take some time, and your effort is very much appreciated.
The information gathered is extremely valuable, as the data is used to help inform future decisions at the school level. Please note, this is also a requirement for all schools.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and support our ongoing improvement.
Have a great weekend.
