Save the Date – Agricultural Industry Careers Expo!

On Thursday, 11th September, Kerang Technical High School is thrilled to be hosting the Agricultural Industry Careers Expo – an action-packed day celebrating the exciting opportunities in agriculture!

This year’s expo promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a fantastic line-up of local exhibitors, including AWMA, Dunstan’s, Dairy Australia, Border Vets, and the Irrigated Farming Network. Students will have the chance to discover the incredible variety of career pathways in the agricultural sector and see firsthand just how dynamic and innovative this industry is.

From exploring cutting-edge machinery and equipment to learning about livestock care and management, there will be something for everyone. Sheep, goats, and cattle will be on show, with experts providing live demonstrations of key industry practices such as fat scoring and pregnancy testing of ewes.

And that’s not all – new to this year’s program is the Bee Store, giving students a fascinating insight into the world of apiculture and highlighting the vital role of bees in sustaining our food systems.

We are excited to be welcoming students from Kerang, Cohuna, Boort, Pyramid Hill, and Swan Hill, all eager to gain inspiration and hands-on experience as they explore the many possibilities in agriculture.

Now held every two years, the Agricultural Industry Careers Expo has quickly become one of the highlights of our school calendar. We sincerely thank our local businesses for their ongoing support and give special recognition to Krystal Grills for her outstanding work in bringing this year’s program together.

It’s shaping up to be an unmissable event – we can’t wait to see you there!

We Value Your Voice – Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey:

A friendly reminder that our school is currently conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey, offered by the Department of Education. This survey is an important opportunity for you to share your thoughts and experiences to help shape the future of our school.

Your feedback gives us valuable insights into areas such as school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. By taking part, you are helping us celebrate what’s working well and identify areas where we can continue to grow and improve.

While the survey is optional, we warmly encourage you to take a few minutes to participate. Every response makes a difference, and your perspective is a vital part of building the best possible learning environment for our students.

The link and PIN to access the survey were sent out via XUNO message on Monday, 18th August.

Thank you in advance for your time and contribution!

Parent Teacher Conversations:

These were conducted last Wednesday and represent an opportunity to connect with your child’s Teachers. They also provide valuable information on how your child is progressing and what further actions they could take t improve their outcomes. It is still not too late and you can contact the school to talk to staff if you were unable to make the Parent Teacher Conversations.

Interschool Athletics:

Kerang hosted the Interschool Athletics on Tuesday, 2nd September. Every student competed to their best and there were a lot of first places. Congratulations to Archer L. and Oscar G. who won their Age Group Championships. Check out our Sport Page in this newsletter for photograph.
