From our Principal

St Roch’s School theme 2025:

Dear Families,

Welcome to Issue 15 of our iNewsletter! We hope this newsletter continues to keep you up to date with all the news, events and learning that happens at St Roch's.

Welcome Back for Term 4!

A warm welcome back to all our students and families! We hope you all enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating break, allowing for some much-needed time to relax and recharge before we dive into the final, and often most rewarding, term of the year. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our wonderful staff, and we thank them for all their hard work in preparing for a successful Term 4.

This term is a special one—it's a time for reflection, consolidation, and celebration. As the year draws to a close, it's the perfect opportunity for every student to demonstrate significant growth, both academically and personally. We will continue to focus on nurturing leadership qualities in all our students, encouraging them to take initiative, support their peers, and act as positive role models.

A strong sense of belonging is crucial for success, and we aim to make sure every student feels connected and valued within our school community. This sense of community is built upon our core values: respect for one another and our environment, resilience to navigate challenges and bounce back from setbacks, and responsibility for their learning and actions. Let's work together to ensure these values shine brightly throughout Term 4.

Exciting Events Ahead!

Term 4 is always packed with fantastic opportunities and memorable moments. We are especially looking forward to our much-anticipated St Roch's Family Bush Dance on Friday 24 October! Keep an eye out for details on that fun-filled night of music and dancing.

We are also excited about the Talent Show scheduled on this evening! This is a wonderful platform for students to share their unique skills and passion with the school. We warmly encourage all students to consider auditioning, and we'd love to extend the invitation to our adults as well—if you've got a hidden talent you are willing to share, we encourage you to join in the fun!

Expressions of Interest - P&F Committee 2026

Thank you to all parents who have expressed an interest for P&F Committee positions in 2026. Please note that if you are not able to commit as a Class Representative, you are able to join as a General Member and support whenever possible.

At this time of the year we call on expressions of interest for positions on the Parents and Friends Committee, whether it is as a President, Vice President, Secretary, Class Representatives, General Capacity, Fundraising, Working Bees and so on. Some positions are being filled as I write this and we are always hopeful that many more parents will offer their support in whatever capacity is available for 2026.

Please email Angie on principal@srgleniris.catholic.edu.au if you are interested in any role on our Parents and Friends Committee.

Celebrating Our Year 6 Graduates

This final term is particularly significant for our Leaving Year 6 Graduates. They have been true symbols of hope and positive role models throughout the year! This is their final opportunity to consolidate their work and truly prepare to transition to secondary school.

We are incredibly proud of them and look forward to celebrating their achievements and guiding them through this important final phase.

As we embark on this final term, we do so with enthusiasm and a shared purpose. We look forward to partnering with you, our families, to make Term 4 the most memorable and successful one yet. Let's make every moment count for our students.

Warmest regards,

Angie Mastoras
