Ryan’s Rambling

Dear Families,
We are now very closely edging towards the end of Term Three. The weather is almost teasing us with snippets of spring sunshine, only to be quickly replaced by rain and clouds. Hopefully, we will see some consistent warmer weather soon.
We began this week, still feeling euphoria from last week’s School Production. Many families have taken the time to send in e-mails, letters and stop by to congratulate our team for their efforts. We really appreciate this from our community! Thank you so much!
We were excited to have Stephanie Cartledge alongside Dee this week in Art lessons. The students have been exploring the two questions from Engoori:
Who are we?
What keeps us strong?
Thank you to the many families who took the time to have these conversations at home. It really has enhanced the conversations here at school. Over the coming weeks and months, Stephanie will help design the mural incorporating all the ideas through key themes and look at bringing everything together. More information soon.
Thursday saw some fantastic excursions and incursions! Our Foundation students had an exciting visit to Sovereign Hill, where they experienced life in the 1850s. Our 1/2s had a walking tour of Ballarat, where they visited our Town Hall and other local historical attractions. Our 3/4s had an informative incursion from the Eureka Centre, explaining all about the history of our national flags and the significance of the Eureka Flag.
Thank you to the many, many families who took time to come to our open morning this morning. It’s always refreshing to connect with everyone as a community and enjoy sharing some quality time with children. To all the significant adults in our students’ lives, we wish you a happy Fathers’ Day. It’s always a sad day for many, so to those who are experiencing sadness or lament, we are also with you.
We have sent out a reminder on Sentral for families to complete the annual Parent Opinion Survey. At this stage, we have had some amazing families take the time to complete it, but we would love to hear from more of you!
Please remember that Wednesday next week is a student free day, where our staff will be busy engaging in planning for Term 4.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Ryan
