Year -1/2 Unit

Welcome back to Term 4! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful and enjoyable holiday break and that students are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting term of learning.
This term, our inquiry unit is all about dinosaurs! Students will be exploring what life was like when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, learning about fossils, and discovering how scientists know so much about these fascinating creatures.
We are especially looking forward to our excursion to the Melbourne Museum in Week 4, where students will have the opportunity to see dinosaur skeletons in both the Dinosaur Walk and Triceratops: Fate of the Dinosaurs exhibitions. They will learn about Australian dinosaurs, and how their features helped them to survive extreme conditions.
A big thank you to all the parents who have kindly volunteered to help on the day, we really appreciate your support. We will be in touch soon to confirm which parent helpers will be needed.
To assist us with planning travel arrangements for parent helpers, it would be helpful if you would please let us know as soon as possible if your child will be unable to attend the excursion.
This term we will continue our Guest Reader sessions, where students bring in a picture story book to read aloud to the class. Thank you for supporting your child to practise at home beforehand as it really helps to build their confidence and ensures they feel proud and successful when reading in front of the class.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful final term filled with learning, fun, and new experiences!
