Welcome to our second-to-last newsletter for this term. I cannot remember a term going as quickly as this one, maybe a reflection on just how much is going on at our school. It is amazing to think that we are only two short weeks away from the school holidays and building up to an eleven-week term to finish the 2025 school year. Important information will continue to be communicated via Compass, with any news items for the day arriving in your inbox or app at 3:00pm each weekday. Please remember that, alongside our fortnightly newsletter, Compass is our only form of official school communication, and this is where you will find everything you need!
Earlier this week, our students staged the 2025 school concert, themed ‘Welcome to Wonderland’, and what an incredible night it was. Our concert format is unique, with the cohort routines intertwined with performances from the Drum Corps, Choir and Orchestra. The feedback on the concert has been overwhelmingly positive, and I thank those who have reached out to us to share their experiences of the night. As I shared on stage, a production like this takes enormous commitment amongst our student, family and staff cohorts, and I thank each and every one of you for your contributions towards the night. A particular thanks to Mrs. Sim for her organisation of the event, to Mrs. Patel for managing the backstage and to our star of the show, Miss Walshe, for expertly bringing all our creative dreams to life!
On Monday, I posted a note to Compass regarding students who may not be returning to our school in 2026. As I stated, this is often the case as our neighbouring independent schools put significant pressure on families and / or incentivise entry into their school prior to the Year 7 intake. My strongest encouragement to you is to consider the benefits for your child/ren to complete their educational journey amongst their friends at CSPS, for them to aspire to leadership positions and to continue to enjoy the quality learning, wellbeing and extra-curricular programs on offer at our school.
I have posted the full letter and further information regarding this, as well as future enrolment details and the class placement process, on the following page of this newsletter.
Earlier today, we hosted our annual Father’s Day Breakfast. With thanks to event organisers, Melinda Reid and Adele Karmy, it was another opportunity to celebrate together and acknowledge this special day on the calendar. I hope all our Dads are well taken care of on Sunday!
Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
