Year 6 Highlight

This term, our Year Six students have been diving into a Discovery Based Learning (DBL) project centered on the world of business. They’ve been learning about the differences between needs and wants, the role of goods and services, and how decisions around materials, costs, and marketing can affect a business’s success. Students have also discovered how businesses must think responsibly about money, including the impact of tax. In our project, a portion of each group’s profits will be “taxed” and directed back into something that benefits our learning community, while the remainder will be donated to a chosen charity as part of our work exploring Catholic Social Teachings.

To bring this learning to life, our students will be running their very own Market Stall on Friday 10th October - where they will be selling products they have designed and created. Throughout the day, all year levels will have the chance to purchase some of the products that Year Six students have created. Parents are warmly invited to come along from 2:40pm to browse the stalls, support the businesses, and celebrate the wonderful learning that has taken place.

We are so proud of the creativity, teamwork, and thoughtfulness that our students have shown as they prepare for this exciting event. We look forward to seeing you there!
