Year 5 Highlight

This term, Year 5 students have been busy researching, writing, and creating engaging information reports on an animal of their choice.
The process began with gathering information from reliable and credible sources. Students learned the importance of paraphrasing—putting ideas into their own words—while recording their research. Together, we explored the structure of an information report, which includes an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Some students even went further by adding features such as contents pages, glossaries, and bibliographies.
Body paragraphs covered topics such as diet, habitat, appearance, life cycle, behaviour, and interesting facts. Students worked hard to organise their ideas clearly and present them in an engaging way.
This week, students are excited to share their finished reports with classmates using presentation tools like Google Slides, Prezi, or Canva. A huge well done to Year 5 for the incredible effort, creativity, and detail that went into these wonderful projects!
